Bringing motorsport performance to one of the finest hatchbacks available out there, the new SEAT Leon Cupra has seen a facelift that propelled it into acclaim. Delivering a driving experience second to none, the Leon Cupra only needs a destination and a determined enough driver.
Design and Performance
The newest iteration of this beloved hot hatch is the sportiest one yet. The aggressively shaped nose is retained, with sharp headlights and wide front air intakes surrounding the mesh grille holding the distinctive Cupra badge. In the back, classic features such as a subtle rear diffuser, twin exhausts go hand in hand with the wheel arches and daring alloy wheel designs.
Befitting the power found inside, the Cupra’s cabin will enhance each driving experience through its Alcantara upholstery and comfort boosting features. The new front sport seats will excite your senses, while Cupra-branded aluminium front door sill trims and the perforated leather steering wheel act as meaningful details that won’t go unnoticed.
Available both in 290 and 300 PS versions, the Cupra knows no compromise when it comes to performing. The CUPRA 290 benefits from a maximum torque of 350Nm and a top speed of 155mph. The Sports Coupe version is also highly efficient – 42.2 mpg and carbon emissions of just 156g/km available on the manual version, with the DSG-auto slightly more efficient.
The new Leon Cupra 300 is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine available in either six-speed manual or automatic transmission. With a top speed of 155mph, 60mph can be achieved in just over 6 seconds thanks to the distinctive-sounding 380Nm of torque that make sure you won’t go unnoticed anywhere you go.
Technology and Safety
Satnav, 3D maps, and infotainment capabilities are a must in any car, and the new SEAT Leon Cupra delivers it all through its six-and-a-half-inch colour touchscreen that can connect to your mobile phone via Bluetooth or through the Easy Connect system. Just as useful are the DAB digital radio, rain-sensing windscreen wipers and Drive Profile which allows for three different driving modes.
Having been awarded a five-start safety rating from Euro NCAP, the SEAT Leon Cupra delivers more than the standard range of airbags scattered throughout its interior. Innovations such as the Tiredness Recognition System, Lane Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control monitor both your and the car’s performance to ensure that accidents are prevented at all times.
